Public review of the Vulani Island Resort Project
Environmental Impact Assessment

 
Vulani Island Ltd proposes to develop a 650 acre integrated resortat the site of the original Vulani Islands in the Sabeto and surrounding foreshore as approved in principle by the Department of Town and Country Planning – Jan 2007.

Tonkin and Taylor International Ltd on behalf of Vulani Island Ltd has completed an Environmental Impact Assessment in accordance with the Environment Management Act 2005 which was lodged with the Department of Environment on the 17th April 2007.

The tourism sector in Fiji is the strongest growth sector of the Fiji economy and the Vulani Island Resort Development will create a tourism destination within the Nadi Region to help with the anticipated growth within the industry. The EIA assesses the impact this staged development will have on the site and surrounding environment and communities and addresses construction and operational concerns.

The complete EIA report will be available for public review from Monday 14th May 2007 to 12th June 2007 during normal office hours at the following locations.
